If so, please plan to attend the Fall Open House on September 27 from 4-6:30pm. ![]() Need a break and want to catch your breath? The Conference Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW) is here to help with a two-night virtual retreat Sept. 29-30 for any female lay or clergy person. Join Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi as the keynote speaker and the Rev. Corey Turnpenny, along with Jenna Amberge, Nairobi Smith, and the Rev. Theresa Eggleston for an inspirational event via Zoom from 6:30-9 p.m. The cost is $25 and a portion of the fee will help support Girls Inc., a not-for-profit organization that focuses "on the development of the whole girl." All registrants will receive a box of materials to enhance your retreat experience. The deadline is Sept. 22. You can earn 0.5 CPU credit for participating in both days. Jacques is often a bridge between her Culture and the communities surrounding her Nation, Onondaga. Join Freida as she explores the spiritual journey of seeking healing through storytelling. She is a person who shares lessons taken from Haudenosaunee history as well as her experience in today's times. She is often described as a storyteller. She is passionate about sharing the lessons about Peace in her culture as well as healing in the individual to achieve Peace. Fee: $25, or whatever you can afford.
Senior Home Care & Alzheimer's Solutions and Dementia Training Solutions are hosting the Living with Dementia 2023 Conference at Embassy Suites across from Destiny USA on Tuesday, October 24.
Their goal is to provide everyone in Central New York with local resources that they can use to help them and their families who are living with and affected by Dementia. There are so many free or low-cost resources, but they are not easy to find because they are not advertised. This conference is for professional and family caregivers, or anyone interested in learning more about dementia care. Cost is $35 per person, which includes admission to the conference, lunch and a resource book. ATLANTA — Wind-driven wildfires on Maui prompted evacuations and caused significant loss of life and widespread damage.
UMCOR awarded an emergency grant to the California-Pacific Annual Conference, which includes the Hawaiian UMC, to provide shelf-stable food, water, hygiene items and tools to help survivors recover belongings. Our own Warren Robinson, a long time member of our church, plays trumpet in the band. Drop in to show him support -- and have an enjoyable evening. Our 14th Annual Mini Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, August 5, 2023. We had a great turnout of golfers and hole sponsors. Many thanks to all who helped and all who participated! $2,175.35 was raised to support Disaster Recovery Mission work. Here are the winning teams:

On Thursday, July 7, a group from Immanuel paired with the Camillus Police Department, Home Depot, and Operation Northern Comfort to build a ramp for a local couple in need. The ramp will be installed on Saturday. This story made the news on Channel 9. Pastor Jack's response to seeing the article was, "It was a great effort accomplished by good folks dedicated to serving in Jesus' name! Doesn't get any better than that!" Many thanks to all who participated.

We were delighted to host for the second year a mission team from Calvary UMC in Harrisburg, PA to stay at our church from June 26-30, 2023.
The mission team has been coming to Central New York for 16 years to work at the Onondaga Nation. Their primary work is to rehab homes in need of repairs. |
